About Us
With the onset of the Tenth Anniversary of 911, we could not help but reflected back on the events that took place on that horrific day. One of our most vivid memories was explaining this catastrophe to our then elementary school children. Trying our best, we reassured them that we would always see to it that they were safe.
Ten years later, our family dynamic has changed completely. Our children are grown and no longer living under our roof. They are in college and/or the workforce and are located in different geographic locations around the country. Despite the fact that they are adults we are and always will be their parents. Worry does not stop just because your children have left the nest. So we asked ourselves the dreaded question: What if? What if we suffer another terror attack? What if we have a natural disaster? How will our children be best equipped to handle their safety and well-being in these situations?
Ironically, they were all located near some of the most recent natural disasters and had to deal with emergency situations first-hand. In light of this and in anticipation of future events, we found it imperative to establish an emergency plan not only for our children but also for loved ones and friends.
Thus the birth of Survival House!
